Group & Centre Activities for People with Disability
At SSS Support, we believe that meaningful engagement with others plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities — and that everyone deserves to feel included, connected and valued in their community.
Our Group & Centre Activities service is delivered under NDIS Registration Group 0136 and is designed to promote social inclusion, develop practical skills and create genuinely enjoyable shared experiences for people with disability. The support is available through NDIS funding and on a private basis for individuals who prefer to self-fund their participation.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, try new activities or simply enjoy time with others in a safe and supportive environment — our group programs are built around you.
What Are NDIS Group & Centre Activities (Registration Group 0136)?
NDIS Registration Group 0136 — Group / Centre Activities — funds disability support delivered in a group setting rather than one-on-one. It covers a wide range of structured programs and activities where participants engage together, supported by trained staff.
Group activities are funded under Core Supports and can provide a cost-effective way to access regular, meaningful support — with the added benefit of social connection and peer engagement that individual support cannot replicate.
Group programs can be centre-based (at a dedicated venue), community-based (at local facilities and public spaces) or a combination of both.

How Our Group Programs Work at SSS Support
Our group activities are designed around the people in them — not the other way around. Here’s what you can expect:
Small, supported groups — we keep group sizes manageable so every participant receives meaningful attention and support from our staff.
Trained, vetted support workers — all group facilitators hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks and are experienced in group disability support settings.
Participant-led program design — we regularly ask participants what they enjoy and want to try, then build programs around those interests.
Flexible attendance — join weekly, fortnightly or as your schedule and NDIS plan allows. No pressure, no locked-in commitments.
Progress notes & reporting — we maintain accurate attendance records and progress notes for each participant, provided to support coordinators and plan managers as required.

Funding Options — NDIS and Private
NDIS-funded participants
Group and Centre Activities are funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation in your NDIS plan (Registration Group 0136). Group support is often more cost-effective per hour than individual support, meaning participants can access more regular activity within the same Core Supports budget. If your plan includes social participation goals or a community access budget, 0136 funding is likely available. Confirm with your support coordinator or contact SSS Support and we’ll help you check.
Privately funded individuals and families
Group programs are also available to individuals who are not NDIS-funded. Private participation suits people who are waiting for a plan, whose funding hasn’t been confirmed yet, or whose family wants to supplement existing supports with additional group engagement. Contact us to discuss private participation options and current program availability.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is NDIS Registration Group 0136 — Group / Centre Activities?
Registration Group 0136 funds disability support delivered in a group setting — including structured activity programs, social groups, recreational outings and centre-based day programs. It is funded under Core Supports (Daily Activities) and allows participants to access support alongside others in a shared, inclusive environment.
How is group support different from individual (1:1) support?
Individual support (1:1) provides a dedicated support worker exclusively for one participant. Group support (0136) provides support to multiple participants at the same time, with staff shared across the group. Group support is often more cost-effective per hour, allowing participants to get more sessions from their NDIS budget — and adds the social benefit of peer connection that 1:1 support cannot provide.
Can I use NDIS funding for group and centre activities?
Yes. If your NDIS plan includes Core Supports funding under Daily Activities, you can use it for registered group and centre activities programs (Registration Group 0136). Contact SSS Support to discuss what programs are available and whether your plan covers this type of support.
What kinds of participants are your group activities suited to?
Our group programs welcome participants with a range of disability types, including intellectual disability, autism, physical disability, acquired brain injury and psychosocial disability. We keep group sizes small and tailor activities to the interests and abilities of the participants in each group. Contact us to discuss whether a particular program is suited to your participant’s needs.
How many people are in each group session?
We keep our group sizes intentionally small to ensure every participant receives quality support and genuine engagement from our staff. Contact us to discuss specific group sizes and staff ratios for our current programs.
Where do your group activities take place?
SSS Support runs group programs across community venues, parks, activity centres and public spaces in the local area. We also run centre-based sessions and community outings. Contact us to find out about current program locations and schedules.
Can I join group activities without an NDIS plan?
Yes. SSS Support offers group program participation on a private-pay basis for individuals who are not yet on the NDIS or who prefer to self-fund. Contact us to discuss current programs, private rates and availability.
