Daily Tasks & Shared Living for People with Disability

Daily Tasks & Shared Living support helps people with disability manage everyday living during short-term stays, medium-term transitions, or individualised living arrangements. It covers support with things like meal preparation, personal routines, household tasks, and settling into a new or temporary living environment. This support is funded through NDIS Registration Group 0115, and it’s also available to people who aren’t on the NDIS or are between plans.

What this service covers

  • Short Term Accommodation (STA) — support during short respite or trial stays away from home
  • Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) — support while waiting for a longer-term or permanent home
  • Individualised Living Options (ILO) — flexible, tailored living support built around how you want to live, including with family, a housemate, or independently
  • Help with daily routines: meals, personal care tasks, household tasks and staying organised
  • Support settling into a new environment and building confidence with day-to-day life

Who is it for?

This support is for people with disability who need help with daily living tasks during a short stay away from home, a transition between living situations, or an individualised living arrangement that isn’t formally funded as Supported Independent Living. It’s suited to people building independence, trying out a living arrangement before committing to it, or needing extra support for a defined period.

Eligibility

To access this support through the NDIS, your plan needs funding in the Core Supports budget under Assistance with Daily Life, with STA, MTA or ILO identified as part of your supports. Your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm what your plan allows. If you’re not on the NDIS, or your plan doesn’t cover this yet, we also work with private and self-funded clients directly.

  • Support available to NDIS participants and privately funded clients alike
  • Flexible arrangements built around your goals, not a fixed program
  • Clear, honest communication with you, your family, and your support coordinator

Funding Options — NDIS and Private

NDIS-funded participants

This support is funded under your Core Supports budget, specifically Assistance with Daily Life, and delivered under NDIS Registration Group 0115. Your plan needs to identify STA, MTA or ILO as part of your funded supports. Your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm exactly what’s available in your plan, and we’re happy to help you check.

Privately funded individuals and families

If you’re not yet on the NDIS, waiting on plan approval, or prefer to arrange support yourself, we offer the same daily living support on a fee-for-service basis. This is a good option for short-term or trial arrangements while NDIS funding is being sorted out.

Not sure what you have?

We can help you read through your NDIS plan and confirm what’s covered, or talk through private options if NDIS funding isn’t in place yet. Just get in touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is NDIS Daily Tasks & Shared Living (Registration Group 0115)?

It’s NDIS-funded support for daily living tasks during short-term stays, medium-term transitions, or individualised living arrangements — helping with things like meals, personal routines and settling into a new environment.

Can I access this support without NDIS funding?

Yes. We provide the same support to privately funded individuals and families on a fee-for-service basis, whether you’re not on the NDIS yet, waiting on a plan, or prefer to arrange things yourself.

What’s the difference between Daily Tasks & Shared Living and Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

Daily Tasks & Shared Living (0115) covers short-term, medium-term and individualised living arrangements. Supported Independent Living is a separate, standalone registration group (0138) for people who need ongoing, higher-level support with daily living on an all-day or most-of-the-day basis. If you’re not sure which applies to you, we can help you check your plan.

What is an Individualised Living Option (ILO), and how is it different to SIL?

An ILO is a flexible living arrangement built around how you want to live — for example, with family, a housemate, or independently with support. It’s funded and delivered differently to SIL, and gives you more say in who you live with and how support is arranged.

Do you support short-term or respite stays?

Yes, that’s what Short Term Accommodation (STA) covers — support during a short stay away from home, whether for respite, a trial arrangement, or a planned break.

How do I know which funding category covers this support?

Check your NDIS plan for Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life, with STA, MTA or ILO named. Your support coordinator or plan manager can confirm this, or we’re happy to help you look.

Can family be involved in planning this support?

Yes. We work with you and your family or support network to plan arrangements that suit your goals and circumstances.
